Rebates are coming! I'm upskilling.

I'm SO EXCITED because I have enrolled to study an advanced diploma in Myotherapy for 2026.

The prerequisite for this is the Remedial Diploma that I already hold and one of the most exciting things, aside from me upskilling to be a total badass next level therapist, is that it means in 2027 I will be able to offer private health fund rebates.

Read that again!

IN 2027 I WILL BE ABLE TO OFFER PRIVATE HEALTH FUND REBATES!

A couple of weeks ago I sent an email detailing the disappointing dilemma I had got myself into by not applying for provider numbers in 2015 when I gradutated with my remedial diploma.

I went back into my worm hole of trying to figure out if there was anything I could do about it (a worm hole I've visited on repeated occasions).

I didn't want to repeat the diploma all over again, but I can't believe to have finally found an overwhelmingly positive option!

Not only am I going to be more highly qualified than your regular remedial therapist, with a bunch more tools in my toolkit, but I'll finally have recognition as a private health fund provider.

The study does of course mean I will have a couple of days of reduced work hours during 2026, but I should still be able to offer appointments over seven days of the week.

Funnily enough, many of the additional components of the Advanced Diploma are skills I have already learned through my continuing professional development, such as kinesiotaping, cupping, and dry needling.

I don't mind revisiting these, and I'm sure I'll learn something different with a different teacher's perspective.
